For all KISS fans today is an important day with the release of KISSology Vol. 3. I picked it up early and, since I was off from work, decided to devote my day to Kiss concerts dating from '73 up to 2000. Lots of fun. Bought mine at Bestbuy. Only $26.00 with tax and came with bonus fifth disc. Overall I rate it 3 (out of 5). My biggest complaint was the Tiger stadium concert in '96 which kicked off their reunion tour. The concert itself is very good, but whoever edited this thing decided to have black outs while Paul Stanley spoke between songs. So you don't actually see anything until they perform their next song(that sucks). No where is it more painful than during 'God of Thunder'. While Gene is apparently being hoisted up to the top of the lighting rig, you are not allowed to see that. The screen is blacked out for nearly two or three minutes. I openingly started complaining, "Did I buy a Cd or a DVD?"
The best gem in the lot is the complete Unplugged performance for MTV in '94. You've never heard KISS sound quite so different as you do when Gene sings "God of Thunder" as a country song. YES. He sings it with a 'hick' accent and it is hysterical. Other concerts include the Dodger stadium performance to open the 'Psycho Circus' tour; the Revenge concert in '94; Monsters of Rock concert in '92; in addition to a performance from their Farewell tour. Overall a decent boxset for any Kiss fan.
