When Distributors Don't Deliver Products When Scheduled...

If there is one pet peeve I have, it's when a desired product whether it be a DVD set. a music CD, a collectible, or anything you have been waiting forever to be released is finally supposed to come out on a certain date and on that date, you make your way to the stores no matter how easy or hard it is to get there only to find you have made a wasted trip. The desired item you have been waiting for is STILL unavailable. They don't have it yet, and yet it is supposed to be available already.
That's what happened to me today. I went all the way out to Chattanooga today to buy the Lone Ranger/ Zorro animated series by Filmation only to find that neither Best Buy, Nor Circuit City, not even the pricey FYE store in the mall has it and I am almost certain Wal Mart will never carry it. Nobody and I mean nobody had it. Answers I got were something along the lines like "It's on back order" or "It's in transit" I drove all the way back empty handed and angry. I haven't had this much frustration since trying to buy Batman and Mr. Freeze: SubZero in 1997 only to wait months and months before it was finally released in the spring of 1998.
Has anybody here had this problem whether it be a show, a movie, music or any product with a scheduled release date? I feel when you fail to deliver when you say you will, that is false advertising.
    Cheers.

I have had a few issues with certain things. Like the Bowen states & bust. However I have learned that with these, they are always 2to3 months behind the shipping schedule. I bought a set of the 8" DarthVader, & BobaFett, mego scale figures from starwars.com ... They were suppost to come out in September, however I just got an email today that they are finally enroute to me house. I am still also waiting for my McDonalds reiusse 8" mego like figures, that were suppost to be here in Sept. I wanted to use a few of these for Xmas Presents,.. however I guess not.

What upsets me the most, is when I do not think I can find something in the store, so I go & preorder something from BBT store, or EE store. & Then a month or so when they say the product will be in, I find it in the store. This is kinda hit & miss though... last toy I preordered was a couple of the Darkness figures,.. I never scene them in stores, always gone, & I have them in time for Xmas.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

always trading for Hot Toys Figures .

Yeah, I know what you mean. I got my revenge and ordered the desired DVD set of the Lone Ranger/Zorro on Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more. I got it at a good low price and I ordered it through one day shipping, but I don't expect it to get here that fast. Especially not with Christmas around the corner. And with my luck, no sooner does it come out in stores, the product that I ordered long ago finally arrives. What a sick joke!!
      Cheers.

I don't even bother looking for stuff that I don't expect to see at the local Walmart. Amazon is so much easier and usually cheaper. Besides that, click on the MM banner and help out with fees.

I ran into the same issue trying to track down an HD-DVD of Blade Runner this Tuesday morning. I saw the regular edition at Circuit City, but I wanted the special edition set, so I went to Target and Best Buy and neither of them had it. At Best Buy, I figured I'd just get the regular HD-DVD, and couldn't find it. Their inventory said they had five, so stood around for what must have been fifteen minutes while half the employees combed the shelves and the back room for it, but no luck.

Worked out for me anyway; Borders had it and I had a 40% off coupon.
