Anyone see the new series by the twin brothers who usually perform appraisals on antique furniture?
It was really interesting but really enjoyed that they are covering a broad range of collectibles. They had a collector and his wife with a nice comic collection. He had Hulk #1 and Amazing Fantasy #15. They hooked him up with some of the most well known authorities in the business. The Hulk #1 had a few condition issues, most noticeably was someone had re-inked part of the cover which bled through to the other side. They valued it at around $2,400. Amazing Fantasy #15 also had some condition isssues, one being a piece of tape that inked brown and placed over tear on the cover. That one was valued at $4,500. They were willing to buy these by the way or help auction them. He agreed to let both go. His killer item was a 1941 Superman Serial Cel which was extremely rare. He mentioned that he paid a few thousand for it (I don't know what a few thousand means) but they valued the item at $55-$60K are were willing to give him $58K for it on the spot. He was really attached to it and not ready to sell at that point in time. Just thought it was cool that they aren't just focusing on furniture or boring antiques.
