Congrats to Miami. I am one of those types who is very loyal to the Redskins and no one else. I live as close to Baltimore as I do Washington D.C. but could care less about the Ravens. I think the only time I ever routed for them was when they were in the Super Bowl and that was only because they were playing the Giants.
It's tough to be a fan when your team isn't doing well and I have all the more respect to fans who stick with a team through thick and thin.
I have been a Skins fan all my life and the last decade or so has been absolutely frustrating. This year, probably worse than any other year since they should be 13-1 right now (they were beating every other team and blew it in the 4th quarter to every one they lost to except the Pats). Now the wild card carrot is being dangled before our faces but I'm sure with the way our season has been going that we'll just miss making the playoffs.
It's the fair weather fan that I have no respect for. My ex-brother-in-law is one. Back when the Redskins where living large in the late '80's and early '90's my brother-in-law was a Broncos fan. Then he showed up to a Super Bowl party decked out in Buffalo Bills gear when the Redskins beat them. I just saw him over Thanksgiving and now he's all decked out in Patriots gear. It's easy to follow a winner, you'll never be disappointed.
It seems like kids these days are not die hard fans like we were growing up. They follow winners. It is unbelievable how many teenagers I see wearing Patriots and Colts merchandise around here. At least I can respect a Ravens uniform or even Pittsburgh since it's close enough but come on.
