I assume you have photos for insurance. I'm afraid to see them!

Wish I could help you out, my man. We are here for you!

        Damn, that sucks.

My local comic book store had a flood a couple of years ago. They lost a lot of rare vintage products and memorabilia which they kept in the basement.

I know my in-laws had a huge problem with water coming through the walls after a flood. After having someone look at it; they determined it was due to the water table (unground water) had risen to a level where it had nowhere to go and simply started seeping through any little crack in their foundation. I think the only way to fix the problem (which isn't cheap) is to have french drains installed (basically digging around the perimeter of your home laying pipe and have it drain away from your house).

Sorry to hear about this Anthony. Just went thru it as well.

Double check with your agent. My basement flooded on the 24th. They did not even put the claim under water backup, due to the severity of the storms it fell under "rain damage". I carry extra coverage for sump pump failure and backup but they did not use that part of the policy. Again, talk to your agent.

Since I have dealt with this before, I made sure all of my really good stuff was off the floor. I lost a few guitar releated items, carpet, and had to replace the drywall but over all was very lucky.
