My Daughter Just Made Her H.S. Soccer Team!!!

I know many of you think big deal but there is quite a bit to the story.

My daughter has been playing soccer seriously for 5 years....solid player, not very aggressive until about 6 months ago when she hit puberty. 3 years ago, I was coaching her team and wanted to move the team to Division 1 and hopefully form a club team if there was success. The Soccer Director would not return my phone calls or emails then found out through the grapevine that he told a parent that he didn't think my daughter was good enough for Division 1 (forget about Club). I yanked her out of the rec leagues, she tried out for a good soccer club and has been playing there the last 3 years. This year, she decided to try out for a different soccer club and made their premier team (the highest level soccer at her age group). Our High School has an awesome girls' soccer team (they won the state championship last year) and are always contenders. After days and days of tryouts and sitting on pins and needles; she made the team!!! Meanwhile, this soccer director's daughter (who is a year older) did not make it last year and didn't bother trying out this year. I never said a word to him about overhearing his nasty comments towards my daughter's soccer skills. Although I could go shove it in his face now, I won't. I never gave up on her and all of her hard work over the years has paid off. It is a wonderful feeling and just wanted to share my joy.

That's great. It is great to see one never stop trying even though there are setbacks.
                    It's all good!
