The gf and I was talking about some of the good classic TV commercials that we enjoyed together. So as a result I went searching for some classic TV commercials the other day.

Here are just a few off the top of my head that we really liked. There are lots more. Some of them I cannot think of whom the sponsors are to track them down at this time.

there was also years ago a Beer commercial with a Farmer who was going to kill a Turkey on Thanksgiving. The Turkey Bribes the Farmer with Beer......the Turkey's reactions were killer one of my favs just can't remember what beer it was so I've never been able to find it on line....

Sega World series Baseball game has Brad Radke former pitcher from the Twins giving up homeruns as the batters form a conga line to the Original Chihuahua song.....pretty funny......

My all time favorite is two locally produced ones out of Little Rock...

The first one featured a local TV weather guy hocking RV's and Camper trailers for Woody's RV. The opening line I promise was "Woody's are popping up everywhere." It was killed a couple days after the initial airing.

The secnd also has some sexual inuendo... Chick Wing place where the owner, really gruff looking biker dude looked at the camera and said, "Only a rooster can get a better piece of chicken." That one however was never pulled.

That one however was never pulled.

It amazes me some times what gets pulled and what does not. I makes me wonder what the determining factor is for pulling some of the commercials.

I know that there is the common sense approach that some commercials just do not fly. However, IF those commercials are that bad how do they even make it on the air to begin with is beyond me.

I think my favorite single all time commercial is that early 70s Coca Cola commercial..."I'd Like to Buy The World a Coke" (from the song "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing").

It's so indicative of the times...a call for peace through drinking Coke...through those turbulent Vietnam War times...a bunch of multicultural group of young people singing from an Italian hill...it really struck a chord with me as a kid....
