    Getting Into Old Store Displays?

My last two Ebay pick ups:

    Balsa Airplanes:

    Davy Crockett Pins:

I originally picked up the airplanes to flip them or complete the display and flip the entire thing. I just saw this Davy Crockett store display listed, and grabbed it.

Now I got alittle interest in old store displays.

The Davy Crockett store display will go well with my 1950's Crockett costume I got a few months.

Anyone else have some cool store displays?

Of course, i would love to have a 68 Hot Wheels store display of the original Hot Wheels. These displays come up every once in awhile, but bring $2000-$3000 each.

I just realized the spelling of Davy (Davey). A knock off to get around Disney?

This Wonder Woman is really cool:

Rare Wonder Woman-Batman-Superman Store Display 110v - (eBay item 350006595416 end time Dec-22-07 09:37:07 PST)

Yeah, that has been listed for a few weeks now. He has not come off that price very much, I think. It is a cool display.

The Crockett store display is really nice.

I noticed Fess Parker is not on the display.

                As these Disney licensed ?

Probably not, look at the spelling of "Davey" instead of Davy.

I did just notice the badges have different spellings:

I have some of those miniature Marx guns and mine are from the 60's. These are alittle different and look alittle newer, maybe 70's.

                    Still really neat.
There was a lot of non Disney Crocket items that appeared in the 50's-60's made to capitalize on the Fess Parker show.
Most people never knew the difference-- so today, they're ALL collectible.

Heck, at the time-- Disney was so frustrated, they called their Crocket lunch box OFFICIAL ... because there was a pretender box

I highly doubt that spelling Davy as Davy or Davey really matters, since he was a real life person. The buckles spell it Davy, the display as Davey, but Disney wouldn't have much of a claim unless they had an identical product. I'd chalk it up to printer error.

Coke displays are another level of collecting. A buddy of mine owns an antique store and some of those displays are thousands. they just don't do much for me.
