"Joe Strummer The Future Is Unwritten" Documentary/Film...

If you haven't seen it...SEE IT. I was never a HUGE Punk fan. Sex Pistols never appealed to me. The Clash I knew of and I like the post Clash band by Mick Jones called Big Audio Dynamite...but Strummer was the brains behind the Clash. Just a great Documentary/Film by Julien Temple. Now I gotta go and find me some of the Joe Strummer and The Mescalero's CD's...and some original Clash vinyl.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them
    Isn't it a pity".

Here is a little trailer for the film:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg3md__8IaQ

It really doesn't do the film justice.

Here is the EPK or Electronic Press Kit for the film...which basically are the extra's of the DVD. LANGUAGE!!! in the clip. Do not play in front of young kids.

And here's one of my favorite parts of the film:

I was always a big fan of The Clash and then B.A.D. I never knew about the Strummer project with the Mescaleros until one day while driving home from work I heard Coma Girl for the first time and went berserk.

I love the Clash...and saw the "Joe Strummer Clash" back in 1984. At the time, both Mick Jones & Joe Strummer were touring the U.S. "separately", both using the name "The Clash". As far as I'm concerned....I saw the REAL Clash.

I find it interesting that there biggest hit "Rock The Casbah", chart wise, was written musically by the drummer. If anyone knows where I may find some of his Strummer's "London Calling" radio shows either on Vinyl or CD let me know. You can tell that he had a love of music.

Just saw another film on one of the other forefathers of Punk/Rock/New Wave scene. "Sex and Drugs and Rock'n'Roll the story of Ian Dury and The Blockheads. Great film. I knew of his music but I didn't know anything about his life. If you get a chance see it. Andy Serkis as Dury is just incredible. Sounds, looks, and acts just like Dury.
