if you got a sweet deal on something, would you still report shill bidding?

Hey guys, say you got a good deal on something...but know the seller is shill bidding and cost you about $70 but you still got a great deal,but of course you didn't realize it at the time...would you report him?

I'm leaning towards it, just cause it really ticks me off!! any advice ?

As much as it bugs me i doubt ebay cares anymore. They get a higher cut of the final value so they actually encourage items going for more.

A shill bidder is someone that intentionally drives their own auction prices up via friend or fake account in order to make more money on their item.

It seems kind of rampant lately, I got outbid on three items this week and got second chance offers within minutes of the auction end, I passed.

To answer your question, I don't usually report it but also remember the seller.

yeah that's what's funny, I get the 2nd chance after like a week which i had written to the seller and asked if the buyer backed out to let me know... so then I get the offer, and I take it..but I notice he does the same thing with other stuff the guy won which is fine...

But then I look and the guy bidded up or won most of his auctions, he then lists a bunch of more stuff and guess who's the high bidder again? would'nt common sense tell you to block the guy or report it if he'd reallly backed out of paying? cause I know that's what i would've done

Personally, if I still feel like I received a great deal on it; I wouldn't bother. Really not worth going through the hassle if you ask me (especially if it was still a good deal even with the shill).

Same here. All that matters to me is that I got a good deal.
However, if I ended up with only a so-so deal because of the shill I'd report it
