First and foremost, glad to have you back and operating under your own power. I know several folks who've been through your sitch and came through with flying colors and I'm sure you'll do the same. Prayers and thoughs for you and your clan will still be headed your way from southern Indiana.

Congrats, also, on giving up the smokes. It's a difficult thing to do (I never smoked, but my Mom did for forty some-odd years and she gave it up cold turkey). It's all a matter of willpower, so just think of yourself as The Green Lantern and the cigs as Parallax and you'll keep 'em beat!

I agree with everyone else about following your doctors' orders; most important thing to do so you can stay around for a long time to come.

And I, for one, would love to have my pp tended to by a nurse, but with my luck, it would be a male nurse!!!

I too offer a friendly suggestion to give up the cigs....but I know first hand how difficult it is as I watch my Dad slowly die in Stage 4 lung cancer.
He can't do it, despite how many tears he sheds.
I quit well over ten years ago - alomst cold turkey. One thing that nixed the urge was to light one up...take a couple drags here and there. Put that guy out, save it. The next urge to smoke, I re-lit that cig...oh my god does a re-lit cig taste terrible. That did it for me. haven't touched one since bro.
