I miss Salvage 1 w/Andy Griffith. The show was really enjoyable and ABC destroyed it like so many other shows it wouldn't get behind.

I enjoyed Salvage 1 too and it was one of many shows that I liked that never went the distance.

You know what’s amazing? How long these intros are compared to TV intros today.

Thanks Joe! So many failed shows.

Shirley's World made to compete with MTM? Firehouse to compete w/Emergency? The Immortal apes The Fugitive.

Paper Moon based on the film. Christopher Connelly subbing for Ryan O'Neal who did the feature. Didn't know he passed away in 1988. HA! He was also was in TV's The Martian Chronicles, Beyond Westworld and an episode of Salvage 1!

I wonder if anyone remembers this sitcom. It made it to season 2 so it doesn't actually fit into the criteria:

And some interesting stuff in this collection:

Whoa! So Lee Majors could have been a lawyer in Tony Randall’s courtroom if two of those shows had a crossover.

I have no idea if it was any good, but "The Marty Feldman Show" was what lead Terry Gilliam to Monty Python.

The Magician with Bill Bixby actually was a good show one of my favs as a kid. It was pretty much killed by the actors strike that happened around that time and had high production costs too that put an end to the show.

Bixby who was an amateur Magician did many of his own tricks on the show and was a member of The Magic Castle, a private exclusive club for magicians.

I'm really surprised that no one has tried to remake this into a movie or new TV series

I love that show too. As a kid, I was always trying to stay up and watch this. I recorded them when the Sci-Fi Channel aired them many moons ago, and had to get another copy of the pilot. I do like the first "half season" of the show when he lived in his plane better. Bill looked so handsome in this show, and he was so slick fighting crime w/ magic. Awesome!
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Totally Agree.....shame it didn't continue.....but Bixby really could do no wrong in the 70's He did the Masquerade show in 74 as a panelist and then did the Apple Dumpling gang with Tim Conway and Don Knotts which i still love to this day. then he did Rich man Poor Man mini series and got nominated for an Emmy he also was nominated for an Episode of The Streets of San Francisco.
Then of course he had his run on the Hulk

I remember seeing a show called 'Covington Cross' that was very loosely based off similar characters of Excalibur played by those same actors - Nigel Terry and Cherie Lunghi. It's interesting to see Nigel playing the part just as he did King Arthur.

Ok, I certainly remember the movie Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice but had no idea that went to TV. Interesting. I do remember watching Salvage-1 and The Magician.
