Sorry for the loss of the job. As others have said, it might be a chance to find something as good or better. My wife went through the same thing years ago, and didn't realize what she was missing out on until a new offer came along.

Sorry about the news. I do believe when one door shuts a bigger one opens. I was let go by a company (6 or so years ago), out of the blue, completely unexpected, and had a family of five to feed. They were a small startup and running into some non-compete issues with a company that was their former parent company. I got myself in gear right away and a little over a month later, a job opportunity just 10 miles from home, making more money, less stress, etc. In retrospect, that layoff was one of the biggest blessings I have ever received."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

... My current Job is coming to an End ... Maybe around September-ish ... , Unless a Bunch of people keep jumping ship, like they are ... So I guess anything after that Point would be considered on Borrowed Time. .. I'd like to find a Job again..., where I could work it for 2to3 years... I'd own the place, and be the Boss ... instead of always the "New Guy" .

Hey Mike, In one way it may seem like a bad thing right now to you because of the economy being in the crapper and you have bills to pay I am sure. On the other hand think positive. It is actually a window of opportunity for you to do better in the near future.

Job postings you're looking for in all geographical locations comes in cycles.., sometimes there's dry periods, other times they all come at once.
I've been a public sector guy since 9/11 and it's been fantastic..
Don't worry about hiring freezes ~ They come and go quickly, in all reality. And you don't have to worry about the younger folk stealing your jobs, superb job security.
But when you're looking for positions, don't spend too much time looking for some 'dream job'..: Get anything entry level (especially since you probably don't have a military background....?), then move around from within.
You can still start your own business, as you mentioned above, but at least you'll have great income to keep from selling your toy collections..

Well sorry to hear that but I was in the same situation last year. Jobless for eight months but in that time I studied my arse off to get my state license. Long story short open my own A/C business and doing great now.......thank you lord! So make the best when your on down time have strong faith because new doors open and only he upstairs will guide you. Good Luck and make the best out of it.
