awesome, but it's way easier when you're not wearing a helmet and pads and in the NFL that would've been offensive pass interference
but it's a bad *** catch"Time to nut up or shut up"-Tallahassee

It was a great aerial catch, but guarantee if they made this a legal catch in the NFL, many receivers will have career ending catches. Corners and safeties will learn how to defend against something like this and have enough strength to throw a receiver into the stands if they pulled a stunt like that."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

Corners and safeties are no stronger than your average rugby/Aussie football player.
Check out some of the players...starting with New Zealand's famous All Blacks' team...mostly headed by Maori players...also a bunch of Samoans...and tough and scary-looking white dudes...scary bunch...

I'd like to see a little corner stop Jonah Lomu 6' 6" 280 pounds in a head-on-collision...
No helmets or pads either...

I'll grant that overall...NFL players...especially the speed specialists...are faster than your average rugby/Aussie footballer...and the huge lineman are overall stronger as well...but stamina wise...and overall tougheness...can be found on the rugby/Aussie footballers...especially if Maoris and Samoans are involved...the toughest bunch on the planet.sigpicComment

There really wouldn't be a need for a safety to come into contact with Jonh Lomu....he'd be taken down by a 300+ lb lineman or a LB just as big and faster than him. I'm talking about the player in the video. Let him try pulling that stunt on someone like Nnamdi Asomugha and he'll find himself in a wheelchair the rest of his life."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

Plus again...they wear helmets and pads...I used to play high school football...and tackling with full gear is very different than tackling without any gear.
You place Nnamdi Asomugha in a rugby situation...without any helmet or pads...and he'll be just another rugby player...nothing special...he'll be just another bloke...and just as exposed as the other rugby players...the only difference...he'll probably sport less front teeth over time...lol.
Now with gear...helmet and pads...that's a whole different story...I get that.
P.S. And I'm not hating on Nnamdi Asomugha...he's my Oakland Raider dawg...he's awesome.Last edited by Hector; Jul 28, '11, 5:17 PM.sigpicComment
