Yeah...John Cena is so noble and all...teaching little kids that it's OK to wrestle another guy (Rey) right after the guy had wrestled only an hour before...and was clearly tired...while superhero John Cena was fresh as a daisy....and he had absolutely no problem whatsoever wrestling with such huge advantages.
Oh yeah...real good role-model actions....nothing but fair play from John Cena...good bully...ehem...I mean...good family values...parents of the kids must be so proud...lol.
Imagine doing that in real life.
face it bro Rey is not WWE champion material, he deserves something but not champ....everyone knows wrestling fake, but making him champ would fool even the kids who believe it's real
maybe intercontinental or something, but he's to small to be a believable champ, it would look like a joke

At MITB Cena didn't want to have a "tarnished win" by having Vince help him out (trying to ring the bell), but Cena has no problem taking on Rey who has already wrestled a match earlier and the evening. They could have held off on the Cena match and let Ray run with it. They could have even done a Triple threat at SummerSlam with Rey, Cena and Del Rio (who actually earned a #1 contenders match a few weeks ago). Having Punk randomly show up at WWE events in the audience would have been better way to go than the current mess they just unleashed last night. And to just give away Rey vs Cena on free tv with no build was a waste.
I gotta chime in on this, just on GP; Throughout my many years of watching WWF/WWE, there have been many things that have really disappointed me and that I thought were really stupid. The first being Backlund beating Superstar Billy Graham for the belt. I couldn't stand Backlund almost as much as I can't stand Cena. Then SSBG comes back as the karate guy??? ***??? No more jobbers... All kinds of changes. Then the Montreal screw job, the list goes on and on, but THIS takes the cake.
I guess like anything you become a fan of really, things always aren't going to pan out the way you personally see them, or want them to... I understand that. But this whole Cena thing is just too much to bear. He really is SO tired, so OVER... Something told me that when he lost to CM Punk, that he'd be back, but I just didn't think it would be this quick. I dunno-- I miss the 80's WWF.
SC
Exactly.
I would've been fine had Cena returned later (at least a couple of months down the line)...then make a triumphant return...
But ONE week?
And screwing poor Rey Mysterio in the process? I mean the poor guy's WWE reign was only ONE friggin' measly hour...what a slap in the face.
And the thing is that Cena...being the wrestler who creates the most revenue for the company...goes happily along with the ride...he has enough pull within the company...to tell McMahon NO...that it's not fair to the other wrestlers...but by the actions on RAW...you can clearly see that John Cena is nothing but a kiss arse company YES man...and that's what makes me completely ill about him...John Cena is nothing a phoney...that's why I can't stand him.
I just started watching WWE again a few months back and was really turned off by it for the most part. Then the whole CM Punk thing started and it really caught my attention. I loved it a few weeks ago when he beat Cena and left. It made for very interesting TV. Now, two weeks later, it's a total mess. They had a great storyline and they pretty much threw it away. The whole title tournament was a joke. Then to let Ray have about an hour and a half title reign before giving it back to the #1 son Cena is just sad.
I would have liked to have seen Ray hold the title for a few months all while dodging Alberto Del Rio's attempts to take it. Then around Sept/Oct have CM Punk return and claim to be the rightful champ. They could have then put on some great matches between Punk and Rey. There is no need to have Cena in the spotlight right now. He has his thing going on with the Rock to keep him relevant. They just couldn't stand to let someone else have their moment.
Um yeah...That is what the Hall of Fame is for...For the kids right?
Old guys meaning old wrestling fans......not the wrestlers... and the WWE Hall of fame is not all that...Randy Savage got totally overlooked by them and Sammartino refuses to be part of it.........
So True....the WWE doesn't give 2 Sheets about Old guys liking them or not they want the kids and the the teens to watch and buy their stuff. It's hey Dad you don't like it tough now go buy your Kid that Cena doll and T-shirt....
CM Punk is just as bad a sell out as Cena.....but Punk can't leave he gotta go make that money money money money.....
Um yeah...That is what the Hall of Fame is for...For the kids right?
Cena relates well to the youth of today because he behaves like a punk just like the majority of the youth. Only difference is he wears a belt.
Cena is not a punk.....when he started he had the whole wigger thugOnomics thing going on....which was funny actually I crack up when whiteboys want to be rappers and act like thugs......
I dig his Hustle.loyalty, respect nothing wrong with that but WWE keeps going back to the well a little too much with Cena....actually if turned heel now it'd be better.......
Me too. I know it was so much more corny and over the top but it was so much fun watching back then. There were so many fun characters to watch. I also enjoyed the fact that the Intercontinental and Tag Team titles had prestige and really meant something.
