Guess his pockets are needing to get refilled? I can't blame him though. You let me come up with a property that I can bring back every ten years or so and rake in millions of dollars in a weekend...

Seriously though, I don't see how the 3D presentation could hurt the original films depiction. JP could be fun... Jaws, not so much. You never see the shark so what exactly would be popping out at you?

But then again I'm a guy who's literally blind in one eye with no depth perception so I can't see 3D anyway.

Well in the scene where Quint scratches his nails across the blackboard, proper use of 3D could make going through the crowd at the community meeting actually make it feel like you too are there at the community meeting:

"Ugh" is putting it lightly! Leave JAWS alone. It's perfectly fine the way it is. There's no need for a 3Dification of it! Yeeesh. Now I wouldn't mind a FRESH 3D Jurassic Park movie provided that it's actually shot in 3D and the 3D isn't added in post because that rarely works well....
