Forgive me--- but I really don't have any sympathy for a person who knowing abuses drugs to the point they cause their own death.

Instead of saying we're sorry for them-- we should be laughing at their stupidity.

And don't forget Elvis Presley. His constant use of amphetamines and tranquilizers is what is thought to be the main culprit of his untimely death.

Dubrow joins the ranks of drug/alcohol-related deaths of famous and talented musicians such as:

    Janis Joplin (heroin overdose)
Jimi Hendrix (wine and sleeping pills)
Jim Morrison (?uncertain, possible heroin overdose)
Keith Moon (overdose of medication prescribed to help him stop drinking)
    John Bonham (heavy drinking)
Shannon Hoon (who also died of cocaine intoxication, poor soul)

    I mourn them all.

The only influence I ever had from Quiet Riot was a positive one, as they were one of my favorite bands as a kid, and one of many influences that made me become a musician. I'm not a drug user and I don't condone their usage, by famous people or otherwise, but it's still sad that the man died. Whether he had "15 minutes of fame" or 25 years of fame is subjective and besides the point. He and his music meant something to some people out there and that's what matters.

Again with the bitterness & spite----and I don't even GET what you mean
by "influenced in a negative way"----since you can "do this all day" why
    don't you explain---I'm curious.

Appreciated Steve---I find it odd that people actually use posts
on the Net to "urinate on people's grave" without thinking twice---
it really begs the question "What's got people so bitter?"

I could even understand a more mature comment along the lines of "I didn't care
for his music" or something along those lines if its that's important to one to
"kick the guy" that just passed---but the sarcasm---I just don't see where the
    nastiness originates from.

Well said Hugh. No need to kick the guy when he's down, especially when it's down for the count.

Or maybe he was just "over-celebrating" over thirty years
in the business---and 24 of those years never having to be forced to work
another job outside of rock & roll---ya just never know
