They usually just do this for new sellers, and for certain type of merchandise (If you jump in and start selling a couple X-Boxes or brand-name handbags, the system flags it as suspicious, and makes you wait on funds.)

They do release the shipping costs immediately, though, if you use Paypal multi-order shipping. And they will release the rest of the funds as soon as your buyer gives you positive. So, if you're lucky enough to get a reasonable buyer and they're happy with your service, you should be fine. The key is to communicate throughout the process, and you should have your funds soon.

        Best of luck!

Thaks for the info, just seems like overkill when I have no complaints. Also doesn't help that they send me this notice on the same day 3 of my auctions are ending.

No problem. Also, they don't always put the hold on - that notice is more or less just to let you know that they reserve the right to do so. Sometimes for items they consider to be "lower risk" they don't bother.

I used to get this message every so often, especially when I opneed a second account. But as far as I remember, they never actually put a hold on any of my funds.

What doesn't PayPal/eBay have the right to do these days.
