    Anyone Else Work Outside?

I got a complete butt kicking this week here in NJ. The heat and humidity were pretty high, mid 90's with about 60% humidity!

I used to back in the day and since I am out of work now, who knows, I could be again!

I don't work outside all day, but we take the kids to the park every day, to the pool, or on a field trip. So even the few hours I'm outside every day makes me feel pretty worn out by the time we come back.

That sucks John. I wish you the best man. It's got to be rough to breath out there, let alone work in those conditions,. Hang in there bro.

I just have a harder time in the heat than i do in the cold. I would rather it be 25 than 95.

Yep. 2/3 of my working day is outside. I'm a postman. The other 1/3 is spent inside 1st thing sorting. There is a saying that only mad dogs and englishmen go out in the mid-day sun. Postmen do too (to fend off the mad dogs).

I used to work outside as a teenager for an outdoor catering company. It was hard work in 100+ degree weather cooking BBQ and no A/C. We would swallow salt tablets and drink lot's of water just to keep from passing out but I did have one incident when I was 15 and went unconscious from heat exhaustion. Horrible experience.
