Oh man, we're old! I went to go see it in Lake Tahoe during Summer vacation, but left the theatre because I didn't want to see the Nazi guy's face melt (had a queasy stomach as a kid).

My grandfather took me to see it, and I'm not sure which one of us enjoyed it more. Pleasant memory.

First time I saw "Raiders" was in high school. During the last week of school, my math teacher was showing it. First half during first period, second half during second period, first half during third period, etc. I saw the second half first, and eventually rented the film and watched it. The scenes inside the idol cave are my favorite parts. It made me want to be an adventurer and escape deadly traps. Instead, I got old and fat.

It’s an amazing film. Holds up very, very well. And the backstory of the production (ie: nothing was easy for Spielberg or Lucas whether funding or filming) is amazing.

About a week after it opened. A friend's family was going to come by and pick me up so we could go to the theatre. When they got there, it was sold out not just for the evening but for the next day, too! For a reason I do not remember now, they went the next week and I didn't. So, long story short, I never saw it in the theatre only on VHS much later.
                It's all good!
