Met Jim Varney (The Hey Vern guy, Beverly Hillbillies movie) at a Krogers once while waiting to pick up a birthday cake. He was a real jerk.
Varney was from the Lexington era, and I've talked to several people who knew him and they said he was a really strange person, and his fame went to his head.
