Luckily the women on this board are not reading this thread...I don't think they would like it much.

But then again...they don't seem to be supporting women's soccer here...so...who am I to take issue with this...I'm just a soccer fan.

Chile is the Cinderella team this year. Brazil is going to get ousted by Paraguay on Saturday they are not the same powerhouse they used to be As for Argentina ,they barely made it to the second round Uruguay is a much better team .they are gone on Saturday also.Chile will beat Venezuela to advance on Sunday the Red machine is strong

I don't want to get too confident, but I feel pretty good about U.S. chances. The teams match up pretty well with good defenses and quick counters. I'm hopin gthe U.S. size and fitness will ultimately win the battles around the and in the box.

And either Brazil or Argentina will win it this year....no disrespect for Chile but I really don't think they can't beat either of them.

I'm not into Copa America this year because Mexico did not send its real squad (I do blame them for that though)...it sent its under 22 Olympic squad (Giovani Dos Santos was the only regular player from the real Tri)...so I lost interest. Having said that...Mexico deserves scorn for not giving it any effort...so they are the ones to blame...so I'm not attacking Copa America...just this particular Mexican team.

Mexico also finished runner up twice there.

BTW...did you know Mexico has a winning record against every single South American team except for Brazil and Argentina?

Sorry, World Cup takes precedence in my book. Stories floating around that the president might fly out for the game.

Good point. I forgot that England emerged as the 1 seed out of the group stages.

Soccer is one of those sports where you have 5 or 6 really good teams and everyone else. The 5 or 6 can beat anyone else on any given day.

Far from it, Japan had the full team out trying to avoid having to play Germany in the next round.
