My folks were married in December 1965, when Mom was only 16. She dropped out of high school, got her GED, and was back in college when she was 17. Her plate was pretty full--she had me in November of 1966. I couldn't imagine a kid doing that today.

I guess the hardest thing to establish is the emotional age of the persons involved.
Some are mature at 16, others not even at 40.
After the things I went through during my childhood, I had to reach adulthood at the age of 15. I guess I kept collecting toys to salvage at least that part of "the kid on me".

So when is the right age to be married?
I think that if they really love each other, waiting until she was 18 would have been the right decision. But it seems that these days people get married and divorced without even thinking about it. There's a big age difference between me and my wife, but we've been together for 21 years now. Only time can tell if the marriage works!

I'm not a very good person to ask.

I look at some 20 somethings you guys sometimes post in "hot" threads and consider them kids.

Personally, I think women my age are the hottest --- because it's what's inside their heads that's a big turn on.

Funny I have someone at my job who is obviously going through a sterotypical midlife crisis. Hes in his mid 40's, divorced, however and trys way to hard to act young. Dresses "hip", hangs out with people half his age, hits on every 20 year old female that walks by, goes to college parties, drives the sportscar, lisens to music he knows nothing about. Its actually quite funny but yet sad at the same time cause its obvious hes going through a midlife crisis. I can't see anyone on a longterm basis or even shorterm being with this guy.
I only bring this up cause It sorta goes with this thread.
I have lots of young friends but they act very mature for their age.

I had a college professor who married a 13 year old when he was 30. He was doing his graduate work living with a yanomami tribe in Brazil. He was there for 8 years and was accepted as one of the tribe and was given a wife to marry by the tribe leader. In that culture that was normal. He used to get alot of cr@p about it.

Crap about it!? That's all he got? He should have been arrested as soon as he hit US soil with his child bride. Sick.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
