If You Watched AMC's THE KILLING Season 1...

...will you be tuning in to watch Season 2, or did the season finale cause you to completely lose interest?

I think I'll still watch it, but it will be with a jaundiced eye. There wasn't anything else to watch this summer. It's still better than most shows. But yeah, they whiffed.

Really? I thought the ending was great. What was the problem? If the series is called "The Killing" do you think they'll wrap it (the killing) up in 12 or so eps?

Actually, The Killing is based off of the Danish series "Forbrydelsen". The Danish series has two completed seasons and a third is currently in production. Each season is self contained and features separate murder investigations, so expecting The Killing to follow suit was not an unreasonable expectation.

I'm way behind on watching these but the ones I've see were REALLY good and looked forward to more. Please don't tell me they make the mistake of not solving Rosie's case this season. Dragging out a story just to fill "X" many episodes weakens a strong story cf Murder One (1995) or Twin Peaks(1990).

I guess they had already said that their version would be different (in that the killer would not be the same person).

I swear I read they were going to wrap-up the murder this season....(SPOILER)....and then didn't. I like slow burn mysteries, but this is a bit much.

You know, I thought I read that too, but I can't find any record of it at all. I think we just assumed they'd learned the Twin Peaks lesson, if there is such a thing.

It was very watchable, but after a few eps there were a couple Sunday nites where I completely forgot about it - which sums up how I felt about it. I didn't really care. Like, if you asked me any of these characters names right now, I'm drawing a blank.

I wasn't surprised with the end curve ball, since everything was falling into place a little too well, which is always a red flag that all is not what it seems

Other than the (yawn) political stuff, the weakest part of the show for me was the Detective what's-her-name. She just annoyed me with her shortness and her dopey faces and her giant ponytail and her grubby 80s cabin sweaters. She was like the poor man's Scully.

Oh, I completely disagree. I loved watching her face as she stared at stuff and figured things out. Cool actress, cool character. I could watch her grocery shop, she's so interesting.

I'm not upset about the ending, I think the show had too many red herrings, and if the candidate gets Jack Ruby-ed he'll be the second suspect to meet a vengeful demise, which bugs me.
