    Original Movie Posters!

    Just started to dabble in this so any help would be apreciated, just picked up some nice John Wayne Western originals.

      I'm not sure about older posters, but I did learn a good way to tell if a poster is original or a reproduction is the size.

      Original's are usually 27" x 41" ... while repro's are 27" x 40"

      I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, but I was told the above is a good general guide.

        I use to have an original Superman and Superman II movie poster. I may still have them somewhere.

            I used to collect them back in the day, but there just isn't any wall space anymore and storing them is always a pain.

                  I think it has more to do with the time the era they were made. I have some original posters but nothing of tremdous value. I do have an original Empire Strikes Back Poster "B" version....paid $40 for it and have no clue if it is worth more, less or the same.

                        I have a small collection, I have a daybill poster for the Munsters 1966 film "Munster go home". As well as a 1969 Woodstock poster and a few other comedy posters.

                          I have quite a few vintage posters, including original 1950s Black Lagoons, Hammer Horrors, etc.
                          Years ago when I was a kid, my Dad and I visited a movie theatre that was closing, and he had stacks and stacks. The owner asked 50 cents each. If only I had had the pocket money to buy them all...
