I was shocked to hear this news today. I actually am friends (not close) with his sister, and it's hard to know how to react and express your condolences to someone you know when their loss is so public, and obviously going to be so rife with commentary. Personally I am going to refrain from the discourse and just remember that two people lost their lives today, people with families that hurt like any other, no matter the circumstances.

While I can't think of a show I would rather NOT watch, it's always sad to see a story like this. Gone way too soon and for no apparent reason other than bad judgement.

It is sad. 34 is way to young. Though if he was drunk he made his own bed and unfortunately has to lie in it. Sometimes the fame can make you feel unbeatable. For all accounts it seems he was a well liked guy by those close to him. RIP

Drinking and driving never mix. Especially when people involved in a show called "jackass" are involved... RIP Ryan.

I love the Jackass series and flicks...and he was a great part of that assemble...funny dude.

Having said that...like many have said here...you drink and speed...well...

I'm just thankful he didn't kill any other motorists and innocent bystanders...sad that he died (and his passenger)...but I'm thankful he didn't take more lives with him.

yeah I agree, regardless if he was drunk or not...it's still 2 lives lost...had he taken an innocents person's life then I'd understand if people were upset with him..But it was his decision to drive and the other person to get in the car with him knowing he'd been drinking so they both knew the risks involved

either way it's sad and i know I'll miss watching him...he was always one of the nicer guys from Jackass
