Do you apply toys to real life situations?

Not sure why I chose to put this in here...but a funny thing happened today...not that it is a first occurance.

I was at the RaceTrac putting in about half a tank of gas and it rang up $31.00...and my first thought was: "Damn I just put a John Stewart GL in my tank!"

Do you compare other expenditures in toy terms?

    It's the other way around...

When I buy a pricey toy...let's say a $100 item...I always say to myself..."damn, that was a lot of pizzas and beer down the drain..."

OMG I did this today! I filled my gas tank for a total of $51, and I thought...dang. That's what I just spent on three Sideshow Zaius dolls yesterday...FREAKY!!!!

This is pretty dorky, but I once told my wife she was "My MOC Green Arrow".

Oh yes, she knew it was a big deal. It was one of the last big Mego purchases I made before I got serious and settled down.

A couple of weeks ago I seen a little person and thought to myself, he looks like he could be Hugo's brother.

I'm with Hector. Except my analogy would probably be more in tune with a week's groceries.

On the last evening of our honeymoon, I had to make a tough call between a 12 inch Kenner Han Solo and dinner with my wife.

                          Awww, that's sweet.

Nate and I use those terms all the time. Say there's an expense we didn't expect. Nate's an expert at figuring out how many video games, for what system, we could have bought for the same amount. We've also been known to compare prices to our comic book subscriptions, as in, "I could have gotten our comics with that money. "

With cash being so tight, I skim a little off the top of my weekly gas money to pool towards one of the new Re-Mego's I feature on the blog. I also bargain shop on ebay for them. The bad part there though is that I'm spoiling myself to $10 figures so when a new $20 (plus shipping) figure catches my eye I have to remind myself that I still have to get to work.

                              Stupid economy.
