Actually, we do eat fried brains. My wife loves it. Not human brains, of course...

Oh I know, that's why I made the joke! Thomas is one of my most favorite Belgians so it's ok

I'm pure Belgian. My superpower is to release a deadly volley of waffles. Thomas has this same ability, but his waffles have cheese on top...

And if I try real hard, I can even do peanut butter on the cheese too

I think this is the same dude. I think it's pretty funny too:

And to come back on the original subject of this crazy book: I still feel it's an unhealthy thing. It's starts with a sick joke, and before you know it somebody decides to take it for real.

That's one goofy book, odd humour there

And I LOVE Belgium, some of the best times of my life were had over there in recent years, and overall really cool people too!

Now, the Dutch, well that's a whole 'nother story..... j/k

    I agree with you.
I can take abuse as well as the next guy, but this seems a but too hateful and disturbing.
But as I'm a tolerant and Ghandi-like pacifist, I feel the only way to respond to this...is to give the author a really good beating. I'll bring the torches and pitchforks...

I wanted to make sure everyone understood why I think it is in poor taste. Lose the term genocide and it would be different. Of course nobody would ever try and use such a word like genocide just for publicity sake now would they?
Yes - I meant satire, not parody. Thank you. Early morning dum-dums got me again!

    Thanks everyone!!!

I have been here at work from 7:30am to 10pm every day this week and at this point I am getting pretty punchy. (even more then usual). That's why I wanted to clarify what I wrote as it most likely didn't come out right. Thank you all for being so understanding. That's why I love this place. You are all such kind people. I don't want anyone to think that I am not grateful for the enjoyment this place gives me.

I have enough fighting on my own board (I don't start any of it. I have to try and defuse it. I appreciate the job of the mods here from my own experience) so I certainly never mean to cause any trouble here.

That word just makes me feel icky.

I think it's done too poorly to be effective as satire. Just comes of as the rantings of a mentally disturbed person. Way more creepy than remotely funny.

I'm with you on that one Brad. I didn't mean to come across as picking on you. You have a point about the word "genocide". There are certain words that don't translate to humor and that one fits the bill.

Brad has hit it exactly--I thought it was a funny political satire, but "genocide" is too loaded a word for satire, I suspect. It does give me a creepy rankle that ruins the joke.

My favorite Belgian, barring Meule, is Hercule Poirot, & he's fictitious.
