Has anyone ever made a custom book?

I was thinking about putting together a coffee table photobook (with a subject matter some of you on this board would like) after I found out that this place will do a "one off" for you. Has anyone ever used such a service to create a book of some sort? I am curious about your thoughts on the quality of it.

This is the place I am thinking about dealing with:
Make your own book. Make it great.

I've made miniature books and magazines for my Megos. But nothing for actual use. Neat!

I have used various photo sharing websites to make hardcover books as gifts. They usually allow one to three photos on a page with a paragraph of type under each photo. I was very pleased with the results.

I have used Apple's service several times. Very simple to arrange the photos in iPhoto and hit the upload button. Received the book within a week and they are awesome. I did it one year for Christmas presents. I gave my Aunt one of her kids and my Dad one of my kids. I also set up a outdoor photo booth at Halloween a few years back and took photos of any of the kids who wanted and made that into a photo book as well. They are very cool

Yes, my girlfriend received a book her ex had made here (Snapfish) of her modeling. He is a photographer. Also had some friends have a book made of photos of their children. Really brilliant idea if you have great photographs.
I was planning on doing some of the folks customs on here but apparently some of those guys didn't like the idea. Would be great to sell at Mego Meet as well as on the Mego Museum.

That's very nice. I could see putting together a neat little book of all the custom figures one has built along with maybe a WIP section for some of them. Something just to have for yourself. Good stuff!

I use Shutterfly often to do this. It is simple and there are gobs of discount offers that keep the price very reasonable.

My friend Al Barret (also a member on here) who lives in Canada has had some local success with his original art and story concept of Atomman. He is creative and his storylines are really cool along with his original art concept.

I used to write comic books when I was a teenager but I am more of a writer then I am a comic book panel to panel artist. I write and work for several local papers and zines that distribute science fiction stories and what not.
If you are a Facebook friend with me, you will see tons of comicbooks and cover art that I have done (for myself) and others.

So, If you decided to start your own comic book and want to put it on line. Just make sure you cover your butt. There are people everywhere that will jump out and steal your **** when you are not looking.
More custom Mego madness on Facebook right here...

Thanks for the info. In my case I might have to re-do a lot of pictures that I took in the past. I have been speaking with a rep from the blurb site I mentioned about formats and such. I think I am going to do a 10 page test book first with a few various photo types and resolutions to see exactly how much or what I need to manipulate or actually re-do in order to then move forward with my project
