    I get to hang out with "Hacksaw" Butch Reed tomorrow night!

    One of the cool things about doing the freelance video work is gigs such as this. The local wresting troup (Mid-States Wrestling) hired me to film tomorrow nights card featuring the Mid-South legend. This is too cool! I used to love going to the old Mid South shows with my dad back in the 80's and now I get to hang with big bad Butch Reed!

    And what gets even cooler is that in August I'll be shooting MSW's big "Legends" show with "The King" himself Jerry Lawler! Geek out wrestling fun for Jimbo!

    Ok, I am officially jealous...

    I was a huge fan of Superstar Billy Graham and his last run ever in professional wrestling was with Butch Reed, who was then called "The Natural" in the WWF. He was managed by none other than "The Doctor of Style", Slick... I remember the pose-down between him and Superstar, where Reed lost and then attacked Graham. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the steel cage match with Butch Reed at the Garden in 87 was Graham's last match, or close to it. He went on to manage Don Muraco and then do color commentary with Lord Alfred Hayes and Gorilla Monsoon.

    Here's a cool clip of their first confrontation after the pose-down incident;

    Always loved Butch Reed. Great mike skills, lots of charisma and someone who was always fun to boo... My favorite promo of his, was when Graham was rehabilitating from his hip surgery, they had footage of him working out in the gym and I always remember Butch Reed yelling; "Yeah, I saw that, I'm not impressed!!!" You'll have to grab me an autograph, Jimbo. Have him sign it to the Sandman!

        That is so cool! I enjoyed watching him in the WWF. They had a great duo with him and Slick and they really should have given him a bigger spotlight. Add me to the list of those that are jealous.

              Actually a bigger fan of Reed's work outside the WWF than it. Great stuff in Mid-South (against Junkyard Dog) and and the aforementioned Doom tag team in WCW.

                And lest we forget the classic "coal miners glove" matches with Hacksaw Jim Duggan in the Mid south Days.

                  Despite the end of the night... it started out great! Here's the wife and babe with the legendary "Hacksaw" and yes that's Sandy's autographed poster...

                  And then of course the goofy dork that is me with the Hacksaw!
