I just finished watching a fabulous documentary from 2007 by director Nacho Cabana. an incredible docu of the real world of Mexican Lucha Libre.
With interviews with Legend Tinieblas, Fray Tormenta(the wrestler who was the inspiration for the movie Nacho Libre) and Blue Demon jr. I can't recommend this enough. It shows the struggles of the men and women trying to make a living as wrestlers.
The film also takes a comprehensive look at all facets of the modern lucha scene, from the bloody, barbed-wire obsessed extreme league to "minis,” midget wrestlers who are often more acrobatic than their full-sized counterparts.
It's a great introduction for those who have never been exposed to Lucha Libre and for those like me who still have a deep love for it
I highly recommend it!!
