Anybody ever own a BOSE radio ?

I used to see them advertized on TV years ago and I always thought they were super overpriced.

I think they used to cost over $300.00 for basically what was a clock radio with CD player.

Just wondering if anyone ever listened to one and if so was the crazy price justified ?

No, I have no plans of buying one

got a reconditioned one from the Outlet store in Orlando. Nice and compact, but its got sound better than big *** stacks of speakers.

I just got one for my birthday (the kind you put you iPod in) and the sound is pretty amazing.

I was skeptical for a long time too.

I got one from my grandmother, and have no complaints. It sounds a lot bigger than it is.

I would love one. Perhaps one day, after I purchase a portable victrola. I keep dreaming about winding up an old victrola and playing some 78 rpm tango records on it.

I don't know from personal experience, but BOSE kinda has a bad reputation for being overpriced. For the same price you could get something of higher quality from another company. Again, I don't know this for a fact, it's just based what I've read on various audio/video forums I visit, places that have pretty knowledgeable posters.

Your victrola reference got me to thinking. I have an old floor model tube radio like you'd see in the '40s. Maybe I'll stash the Bose inside of there, and have a best of both worlds sort of thing.
