P.S. And it pains me to say this because MU has my boy...Chicharito Hernandez...

I didn't watch the game, but no argument there, at present Barcelona are the untouchables.

Barcelona was on fire. They are so unbelievably good, they would probably beat any World Cup nation. Game was really great early on...Manu went after them with an aggressive posture and it was working until Barcelona scored its first goal. Rooney equalized shortly thereafter and it was all Barcelona from there.

Now, I am totally psyched about going to watch MANU and Barcelona play in a "Friendly" here in Washington D.C. at the end of July. I'm not sure if Messi will be playing since there are some Argentina qualifying games around that time but I don't expect anything to be friendly about this. I'm sure MANU is going to play for pride and I know Barcelona isn't going to roll over and play dead so it should be one of the best "friendlies" played on U.S. soil. I like players from both teams so I have no skin in the game so to speak other than just enjoying a good futball match. I expect the stadium to be roughly 50/50 MANU/Barcelona fans so I doubt any big advantage to either team spectatorwise. They are playing at FEDEx field which I believe holds close if not slightly over 100,000 fans and the event is almost sold out (tickets were expensive). I never would have thought 10 years ago two European soccer clubs playing in a "friendly" could sell out a stadium of this size.

Some of these players are on a $160,000 + per week. I don't think any of them or the manager will want to risk them getting injured in the summer going into next season. So you will get a nice passing game, but there won't be any blood guts to it

Fun game to watch, but a disappointment for me. I'm a Devils fan, but hey, they got beat soundly by a better team. Congrats to Barc.

It truly is amazing to me being a lifelong soccer fan/player how they can for the most part hit any part of the goal they want while running full speed. Messi's goal was stunning to watch. Shoots the ball outside of the penalty area and bends the ball to far post so the keeper has absolutely zero % chance of saving it. I'm sure some of these goals are a bit of luck but time and time again; I am amazed at how accurate they shoot especially when you are talking eye/foot coordination. It isn't even anything comparable. So much more difficult to hit something accurately with your foot than it is with your hands.

Not just the shooting, but also the passing!

Barca was amazing in tight spaces, literally passing circles around ManU. I was amazed how, the moment a Barcelona player got the ball, two other players would immediately go to space and create a passing opportunity. It seems so basic, but the execution was impressive. Although I do get a bit frustrated with the short corners. I'm a big Barca fan, so I was quite happy with the result!

I also saw the short corners. Maybe they felt like this was a good strategic move. Short pass to Messi to draw defenders out of the box and hopefully open something up. It didn't work but it didn't need to either.
