    Aquarium Pics

Post pics of your Aquarium, fresh or salt. I used to have a 135 gallon freshwater tank with live plants. I had some nice Discus and a large, velvety solid black Angel Fish with blood red eyes, along with some other community fish. At one point I had an electric blue Hong Kong Shrimp and fresh water clams. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of it about 15 years ago when my wife insisted on a large computer desk. Just last week I picked up a small 1 gallon Betta tank where I keep "Mercutio", a mystery snail and a live plant.

Let's see or hear about what you have.

Oh, cool! Neat idea for a thread.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Back in the 70's my family had a fresh water Aquarium.

I don't know how much water it held but it was about 2 foot x 1 foot x 15 inches.

It was neat, but it was overcrowed.

The fish I remember in it were "sharks" goldfish, fantail goldfish, angel fish etc.

One night the filter caught fire when we were sleeping.

We all woke up with black smoke stains around our noses.

Somehow the cloud went through the whole house.

My mom said GET RID OF IT and we never had another Aquarium

To this day I can't help but think something above was watching over us that night.

Nice pic. I had a tank full of fish when I was a teenager, kept it for quite a few years, but it's long gone now. Since then I've only had a betta in a small bowl a couple times. When my son gets a bit older, I'm going to try a small aquarium for us (probably mostly me) to take care of.

I've had several aquariums over the years. The last one was about ten years ago.It was an older 80 gallon with chrome trim.I had a piranha in it that i grew from a pup .He was about 5 inches long before before i got the bright idea to put a small bluegill i had caught in with him.He caught some skin disease,i'm asuming from the bluegill and died.I had that aquarium Tim Taylored,"More Power" with an underground filter, two power filters, three air pumps and lights.I figured it out and it was costing me an additional 25.00 a month to run that thing.

As a kid, my friend had an aquarium.
We had great times with our Action Man deep sea diver and the plastic shark in that tank.

The fish didn't live so long, though...

I has a 50 gallon tank with two red belly piranhas for 12 years...until they both eventually died of old age.

Along with them...I also had these Amazonian bottom-feeders with spikes...they coexist with piranhas in the Amazon...but after two years...the piranhas learned to avoid their spikes...and ate them...I was so mad...because the bottom-feeders were actually more expensive than the piranhas.

I also had a school of tiny red tailed black sharks (they are really fast, and were recommended to coexist with piranhas)...they also started disappearing over time...damn bloody piranhas...lol.

They were both around 8 inches long...and pretty thick. Both had red bellies...but one was darker than the other...and he was the dominant one. I named the dominant one Pancho Villa (because it was a tad fatter)...and the other I named it Emiliano Zapata...both after famed Mexican revolutionaries...lol.

I fed them live goldfish at times (that was their treat)...but most of the time...I gave them hot dogs, beef, ham, etc...lol.

Their demeanor in an enclosed tank...and considering that there were only two...was very skittish...they were very shy...and would stationed themselves behind my wood log decorations. I could even take out stuff with my hands...in all of those 12 years...they never even once went for my hand. One thing obviously..is because they were always well fed...lol.

I have pictures...but were taken before the digital age...and are in print...the pictures are in the basement somewhere...and I would have to dig them up...then scan the pictures...I don't think I wanna do that right now...lol.
