    It's a Hunter Prey kind'a night!

So my wife and I are laying around in bed just clicking through channels, and guess what! Right there on my T.V. playing on Showtime Beyond for the whole world to see... Hunter Prey.

My wife wanted me to come on and post a message about how great the movie is, and to say...

    YOU GO SANDY!!!

It would probably be impossible to get the rights but I would love to see another CLASSIC Universal monsters movie made the way they used be made.

Young Frankenstein recaptured some of the magic, but I'd like to see one done serious.

Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolfman are public domain IP's. Anyone can go and make a Frankenstein or Dracula movie without acquiring any rights from anyone. However, the "look" of the monsters are © Universal Studios. That being said, I have an idea for a Frankenstein film I'd like to so someday. Who knows, maybe I'll get to make it.

You know, I thought about that a while back. I'm a fan of True Blood & the Twilight series, and I like how vampires, werewolves and some of the other beings translate into modern culture. However, Frankenstein is the one character that I have trouble envisioning in the 2011 world.

Doctors are now able to transplant faces, which opens the door to some interesting possibilities, but I'd struggle to suspend disbelief regarding a modern-day brain transplant...which was key to the Frankenstein story (or at least the movie. I never read the book.). Plus, the whole idea of stitching together assorted body parts to create a create a new person seems almost quaint/naive by modern standards.

One could write an interesting story about a person who has so many transplants or plastic surgeries that he starts to question his identity or humanity, but again, that won't rise to the level of Frankenstein without swapping brains.

I dunno...Frank was my favorite monster growing up. It would be nice to see a quality project that did bring him forward in time. I just can't picture it.

BTW - I saw Hunter Prey last night. Bravo!
