I still have a Howard Johnson's Hotel and restaurant in my area. It has been there since the 70's and probably a number of years before that

I believe they still have them in Gatlinburg

went to one in manhattan one time to see a lady, looked clean, smelled clean and the bathrooms were spotless as well as the bed. All for a modest price, what more could i ask for.

Great post! I definitely remember seeing both the restaurant and hotel but never ate at one or stayed at one.....now that I think of it; I don't remember ever staying at a hotel growing up. We had a camper ala Brady Bunch and then bigger models throughout the years.
