Lunchboxes and autographed football cards. My wife would tell you that I collect Macintosh computers also as I buy a new one every 6 or 8 months. HOWEVER, I always sell the old one to buy the new one, so I don't really consider that collecting!

My favorite stuff to collect is Universal Monsters and 80s toys. I'm also really into vintage game consoles and games like the Atari and Intellivision systems. My favorite current line is Monster High. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

Since "Mego" for me includes LJN, Emce, Cast-A-Way Toys, ZICA, CTVT, Rainfall, and more, I won't list them.
Modern GI Joe figures
Choose Your Own Adventure Books (also "Find Your Fate", "Twist-A-Plot", "D&D" etc.)
Older Board Games (for play, not collectible value)
Mego Museum Cards
Robots & Robot-Like Characters (action figures, figurines, etc.)
Dust (metaphorically)Comment

First edition books by Raymond Carver. I don't really have the coin to purchase signed versions of all of them, but it's a pretty decent collection nonetheless.Comment

What don't I collect? Toys, comics, books, lunchboxes, statues, memorabilia of most of the geeky arts.
At this point I'm a hair's breadth away from pulling the full Howard Hughes: The Latter Days. Those tissue boxes are keeping my feet warm and I would suggest not drinking any of that stuff in the jars.Comment

Mego's for me also include anything in the similar scale ie: LJN, AHI, EMCE, etc. I obviously collect those. I prefer loose over MOC or MIB on all my collections. I also don't do vehicles/playsets unless they're extremely uncommon to find and I stumble on one in a collection or at a yard sale or flea market. Just don't have the space. In addition to Megos I collect:
Thundercats: Need the 4 biggest pieces to complete the collection.
Inhumanoids: Need only the rarest of the large monsters.
Centurions: Need only two rockets for one vehicle and that's done. There are two known prototypes of the four unproduced items that I would love to get my hands on.
Would love to see the above lines rereleased in Mego format. Especially the Thundercats and Centurions. Those two could be an awesome cartoon, video game, live action movie, toy line, etc. the retail marketing would be unlimited if done correctly. BTW I don't think the proposed new T-cats cartoon counts. I like the vintage one.
Movies: Never really considered myself a movie collector but since I have over 600 dvd's and 300 digital, I guess I'm a movie collector.
Anything: I'll also go after anything that catches my eye though rarely a full line. I may start either Super Powers or Bravestarr, since my other lines are virtually complete and I have to collect something.Last edited by megocrazy; May 17, '11, 3:16 PM.It's not a doll it's an action figure.Comment

I must have been bit by the record bug recently, because that's all I'm interested in these days. I like that I can still go through a pile of records in a garage sale or Goodwill and still find a hidden gem. I like the hunting aspect of collecting, and, at least from my experience, there are fewer "collectables" that you can do that with.
I also collect:
comics
other random toys
Posters/artwork
I love old typewriters and have a few (don't know if that counts as a collection or not)Comment
