My two favorites go back to a TV show and a movie that I watched over and over in my youth.

Northrop M2-F2 Lifting Body Infamous for its crash landing in the opening sequence of The Six Million Dollar Man.

Bell UH-1 (Iroquois) Huey Col. Kilgore's ride of choice in Apocalypse Now.

Great list... agree with most of these.

But I need to add the SR-71 to the list. As a kid, I was fascinated with that plane... it seemed like it was something from the future.

One of my faves, not as extreme as the Bee Gee, but in a similar style is the Polikarpov I-16.


For coolness, P-38 Lightning.


Love the ME 163, but also the graceful lines of the ME 262, the first operational jet fighter.
