What was your first LP record album you personally bought new in the store ?

I'm not counting your mom giving you her old The Platters greatest hits

I can't exactly remember, but it was one of these 3

    The Beatles Second Album
    Carole King Tapestry
    Rolling Stones Stickey Fingers

    How about you ?

I think it might have been KISS's first album, years after it was released.

Probably the Disneyland book/LP set of Rankin-Bass' The Hobbit. Music-wise, probably The Beatles' 1962-1966.

            Hmmmm....

"Fire of Unknown Origin" and "Spectres," both by BOC.

It wasn't in a store, but I had to wait 4-6 weeks to get a greatest hits album called simpoly, "The Monkees" after ordering through a TV ad. I remember it had a pretty generic black and white album cover with a simple sketch of the band. The innder sleeves were those cheap paper variety. I can't even remember, but I'm assuming I had send some kinf od payment to get it.

With my own money...probably Hall and Oates H2O or Billy Joel's Nylon Curtain. Leaning toward H2O. I remember the 1st 45 I bought was The Jackson 5's "Dancing Machine". Bought it at Gertz...and the same day/same shopping I bought a boxed Captain America. Unfortunately...I only have the 45 left from that day's shopping.

Elvis Christmas LP! Then I'd say the superhero Power book and record sets! If I remember right I think they all came from K-Mart. I still remember busting my piggy banks for the money.

I know it was a KISS album, but I don't remember which one. However, I do still have all my albums and 45s.

I bought this when I was five years old with birthday money in 1975. Still in my collection! I never stopped buying LP's--I still buy a few hundred a month!
