Remember when you thought sneakers made you run fast?

Think back to when you were a kid, and Mom just bought you a new pair of sneakers. Remember how it felt when you put them on? You just felt faster. You'd show all of your friends and your parents that you suddenly turned into the fastest kid on your block. You could even jump higher or get to the top of the monkey bars ahead of everyone else. If you were around during the SMDM or the Bionic Woman, maybe you even made the danananana sound (if only to yourself! )

Can you remember which shoes used to cast this spell on you? I think for me it was my Kid Powers, my Converses, and my Pro-Specs.

Yeah, but in some cases, my sneakers did make me run more efficient. Certainly not quite to the super power speeds that I thought they did, though.

Pumps were the best, haha. The more pumps, the more power you had.

PF Flyers - they had the "action wedge, built right in." They also provided a small prize with every pair of shoes. I still have a blue and white "space whistle" that has morse code printed on it, as well as a incredibly useless (i.e. tiny) secret compartment.

Honestly,

Whenever one of these threads pop up (usually started by you ) it just makes me sad because life as a child was so amazing. Life as an adult sucks. It's sometimes hard for me to get my around the fact that I can't get back there, no matter how hard I try. That is a sad and incredibly depressing thing to deal with for me. Just the way it is I guess.
