never carry one, I despise them. Really find the people annoying that feel that they have to relate all the bs details of what they are doing to whoever is the schmuck on the other end.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

I don't feel naked without it, but I don't leave without it.
Many years ago, my wife and I chose to get cell phones for safety purposes so we could always be in touch. The world kinda grew up around us and all the advances just brought more into that device, and so we just grew up along with it. I agree that folks who can't go hiking without staring at it are missing out on the wonders of nature, but maybe they are really good people nevertheless.Maybe . . . .

The only time it ever rings is when some one wants something from me. That something usually being more money
I have to have mine for work, but mine is so old all it does is act like a telephone. Silly, huh? Actually, someone showed me that they could speak into their phone and then the voice recognition in it would convert it to a text message for them and send what they said out as a text. I asked the dumb, I'm in my 40s and you are not, question: Why not just call and talk to the other person than going through all that? His reply was that no one wants to actually talk to each other these days. How crazy is that? It's all good!Comment

^Now if you give it to them every time they do call, then I want your cell number, D!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

I like having a cell phone and don't leave the house without it. I rarely use it but I feel safer knowing I have it with me in case of an emergency. I don't text with it. If I want to write someone I will email them or send them a snail mail letter. I don't have apps or play games on it. If I want to play games I have an XBOX or psp. I use my cell phone as a phone.
In this day and age I feel it's just not safe not to have one.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

If you are around 5'4", green eyed, natural long blonde hair , with a nice rack my phone # is on the way shortly. j/k LOL!! Actually, I am referring to this gal that keeps calling me up saying that she is my gf. The nerve of some people anyway. The bad part about it is I keep falling for it over and over. hahaha
Don't feel too bad. Most people would expect me to have ALL of the latest gizmos of a "phone". However, a lot would be fooled to know that my phone is an older model as well. It is not like I cannot afford it. I just do not want one by choice. I guess I just cannot bring myself to agree with the m"asses".
That and switching phones to another new one every week. I have a relative that switches often and it seems like about every week. Maybe not, but pretty darn close to it.
I could care less about texting or playing games, surfing the net or watching tv on a phone with such a small screen. All I want is a phone to call and receive calls.....(so I can give out more money)
Yeah, I don't get it either. To each their own as always. If they are happy then I am happy for them. It will not be long before they will be crying that someone hacked their phone and stole all of their info. Kind of like the Playstation network. Yeah, Don't worry your information is completely safe with us.How many times have you heard that one?

Half of the time, I completely forget my phone. My husband simply cannot fathom how I could ever leave the house without my cell phone. Unlike Ed, whose phone is on his belt, like an appendage, from the time he rises until he retires for the night, mine sits on the shelf above my desk until I need it.
I don't use it while driving, and turn it to voice mail when I am in a store, restaurant or appointment, yet he has a tizzy if I don't immediately answer it for some dumb question that could have waited.
I haven't decided if it is convenient or obtrusive.sigpicComment

Everything about cellphones, texting etc. is great... it's been a great
addition to our technology... if you have a problem with it... like how your
friends, your enemies or other Earthlings use it... that's something for
YOU to work out on your own, but to blame a harmless and HELPFUL
piece of technology for your own problems with the world and how it uses
the technology makes no sense to me."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

Up until recently I just had basic flip phone. I'd occasionally forget and and.. no biggie. Since I upgraded to smartphone now though I HAVE to it. I thought I forgot it one day and started freaking because going back would have made me late for work. I was very relieved to realize I did have it it just fell deep into my jacket pocket.Comment

IF they're not in the hands of someone being unwise and texting while driving.
That was essentially the point of my post actually."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I'm #3 in this thread... I have resisted owning a cell phone. It presents a problem once in a blue moon when I'm on the road and I need to contact somebody. There's a real lack of pay phones in the city. Apart from that i'm happy to be a throw back to the 20th Century.90, Joe 90.... Great Shakes : Milk Chocolate -- Shaken, not Stirred.Comment

Not only do I loathe mine, I loathe everyone else's... That device has gone from a convenience to an addiction for most of the country. I see people every day that absolutely cannot look up from that god forsaken, little rectangle. Some live their entire lives glaring and staring into the damn thing, completely unaware and oblivious to the world and life around them. This disease is most rampant in young people, unfortunately. The fact that we as a race have become so predictable, so willing to chase technology or the next shiny thing that flashes in front our blank, soul-less, faces, sickens me.
So, to answer your question; No. I don't feel naked without it. I feel human, which is exactly what I am. I refuse to become a slave to an electronic device. The fact that I do so much business on line, is bad enough. I gotta draw a line in the sand somewhere and make stand... For humanity's sake and for my own sanity.

You whispered to me to tell him to shut it...but I was so enjoying your movie...that I didn't want to cause a scene...because had he objected...I would've definitely ruined your movie myself by body-slamming that P.O.S. all over the movie theater...
