Subway

I go to Subways once in awhile...it's ok (cheap)...but I just don't dig on their "spongy" breads much.

I prefer Togo's...their turkey with avocado is pretty good...I like it with sourdough bread.

But the one that makes awesome authentic Italian sandwiches in my part of of the world is A.G. Ferrari Foods at Piedmont Ave...their breads are fantastic (no spongy crap here, lol)...their Prosciutto/Provolone sandwich with garlic spread and a touch of olive oil (instead of mayo) is to die for...their Calabria Panini is also off DA hook...oh...and their Mortadella and Salami is also awesome...yum.








Of course you can make your own great sandwiches...who doesn't...but sometimes you are on the go...and don't feel like making a bloody sandwich...no matter how simple...I get sick and tired of making my own food all the time...lol.

...and of course...like Damien knows...tortas cubanas are friggin' awesome...we are lucky to have some Cubans around here...

Mexicans also make great tortas...try al pastor one...or a carnitas...carne asada...even a huevos con chorizo torta...artery-cloggers...but who cares...

Well, I get mine w/ provolone, tomatoes, onions and parmesan cheese.

I just don't eat at subway. If I want a lunchmeat sammich I can do that at home.

Ain't that the truth,I think 5 bucks could build a better one at home.

The way Subway has always worked was: you pick the type and size of bread. They ask you what kind of sandwich is it and what cheese and then they put dressing and veggies on.

We live in the sticks and our only choices of restaurant within fifteen miles are one independent family restaurant and a Subway in a gas station. Because we can have very long days on the farm, we often stop for Subway. For at least the last ten years, the order at our subway has been cheese, meat, veggies, and lastly, dressings.

But I never thought anything of it, because unless it is something difficult to spread, like hard butter, we always add the condiments last at home also. However, I do think my family is strange that way, because the few times we have had guests over in a "sandwich situation" the spoon in the mayo seems to confuse people and they often ask for a knife.

I rarely do Subway. If I do go it is strictly for my gf. Every time I went to get a $5.00 foot long the sub sandwich I wanted it was not on the $5.00 foot long special menu. What a joke! My gf loves their cheese bread.

We both like Mr. Goodscents Subs and Pastas better than Subway. Unfortunately for my gf Mr. Goodscents quit making cheese bread for whatever silly reason ?!?!!?

oh yeah I forgot to mention onions, I get extra onions on everything!!
