I woke up to the sound of rain coming down the drainpipe behind my bedroom window. Rats. Another day w/ stir crazy kids who can't go outside.

what rain? We are in the midst of a drought. If you can find a way to send the wet here, please do 'cos in our case the grass is definitely greener on the other side.
How do the natural people that live there take it ?
Do they even sweat when it gets hot ? ... or is their bodies so used to it it's like nothing to them ?
Pretty much. AND lots of A/C.
Typically I'd be at work (in A/C tents) by 0630hrs, and except to leave to use the porto-potty outside (again, NO indoor plumbing for a year..), I'd stay until 1900hrs when the sun went down.
If it was a terrible nasty-hot day (over 120 deg), I'd stay inside and not go to lunch. You'd be soaked by the time you walked there (about 10 minutes across post).., then walk all the way back.
It's funny to still sweat after 9pm.. It's really like a really hot Arizona summer, just continual from February to November.
There was some torrential rainfall in January, which caused some flooding on base a few times.
I just love the rain. As long as my feet remain dry, I'd be happy to slosh around outside. I love to hear the sound of rain. It just makes me happy.
I thought chimps didn't like to get wet!

Yes, I have been thinking about starting the same type of thread for a week or so now. It has rained here in the Midwest for like the last two weeks straight.
Now I can understand why Seattle WA has the highest suicide rate in the world.
I do not think I would be able to stand it. I am into it for two weeks now and am doing fine, but this is really starting to suck. I want to get out in our Oasis and enjoy the beautiful sunny warm weather BEFORE it turns into a blast furnace here in the Midwest.
I want to get some of my sports cars out and enjoy a nice long drive. I want to fire them up and let the horses sing.
Needless to say. I am sick of all of this rain to.
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009
For the last seven days, with the exception of Saturday, all we have had is rain. Normally I would not care, but a stretch that long means I have all five kids stuck in the house and I have to go feed the animals in the rain... Yuck!
