OK, Ebay has ticked me off for the last time...

I am just venting here, but I need some advise...I have left ebay now for good..We (my wife and I, it was her account) have been an ebay customer for since 2007, always paid my account on time, bought and sold items for all this time. Had great feedback, and never took advantage of anyone on shipping. A few weeks back I listed the LJN Rookies figure (that now is listed on this site) and I wrote on the listing title "LJN 1974 Rookies figure mego like on card", anyway to make a long story short, they removed the listing saying I violated there listing policy, since I put "mego like" in the title. Now if that is true I am at fault; however we all know that if you type mego in the search you will find Famous Cover, Toy Biz, and DC Retro Action figures, customs and all sorts of other "mego like" action figures listed and are still listed...which has never bothered me as a collector, as I like to look and have even purchased many of these "mego like" items...anyway, without sounding like I'm having a tantrum..lol..I was wondering why mine was removed when there are so many others out there who are doing the same thing? I also was wondering where the next best site would be to buy and sell the toys I collect? I love the hobby and sometimes purchase an item that I don't really collect just to sell for someone who does. I put up with their fee raises and their treating the sellers like crap all this time, but this is the last straw...

You should not have used "like". It's an automatic flag when it's in a title. Just use Mego and you'll usually go unnoticed.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Don't try and understand Ebay, either go with it or walk away. There are no other sites worth selling on and they know it so it's their way or the highway.

I've been getting away with "Mego style" for quite awhile now.

I guess you all are right...It's just seemed really picky...maybe I'm making way to much out of it all...I wish they had some real competition.

Your right Karen I have found some really good bargains on there as well...I guess I really just needed to vent..lol...I know it all sounds trivial, but I was not trying to rip anyone off, I was trying to explain the item, cause it really was LJN trying to be "mego like".

yeah it's the like that gets them to take it off, if it's happened to me as well...just put mego or mego like in the description and you'll be alright

For somehting like Rookies, i would just do it LJN/Mego. I even use just mego when I know that most likely it would be something a mego collector would like. What sucks about ebay is it really is the only game in town when it comes to mass online auction stuff.

I was unaware you couldn't use -like in the listing. Interesting.

i dont think ebay proactively searches out stuff like that. it's only when someone brings it to their attention. so most likely, your listing was red flagged by some random user.

Interesting that your auction was pulled and this one with "mego like" in the title is running and almost over.
