Okay, I lie and the following link is tongue in cheek but I can't tell how much it bugs when I see that woman talk to her husband the way she would talk to a 5 year old when he's trying to see past all the rows of yogurt he probably helped pay for.

I hate this commercial too. I don't care if it's a husband or a wife, the reply I'd give this person when they ask me what I'm doing is "I'm looking in the refrigerator in my own da** house, thank you very much. And I probably helped pay for all that yogurt you're eating!"

According to TV commercials family men who help afford gigantic homes with top of the line appliances are the dumbest people on earth and should be talked down to by their wives and children at all times.

It's a stupid commercial. But calling it domestic abuse and writing pearls of wisdom in the article like this "He wants to cry out, but the last time that happened she pickled one of his testicles." is more than just a smidge out there.

this commercial follows the vein of the modern family sitcom where the husband is a dope (Everybody loves raymond, home improvement, king of queens, malcom in the middle, modern family, the middle, etc) and the wife treats him like a child despite the fact he has a job and convinced her to marry him

imagine the uproar if women were portrayed like that today

Oh, please. This commercial, while stupid, is mild as commercials go. It's no where in the league of those hateful old coffee and ring around the collar commercials. Not to mention the sexist depictions of women in ads currently aimed at men. Commercials suck and have for long time.
