So i thought today's first hockey game started at noon, well it starts at 1 so i had some time to kill. VH1 is showing one of my all time favorite movies Spaceballs. For years we have heard Mel Brooks was going to make part1. He has tons of stuff he can mock that's for sure. Spaceballs is one of those movies that you cant watch with anyone other than someone who loves it as much cause i will sit and quote every line. Annoying as heck if your not a fan.
So lets get some love for Spaceballs. I know id buy some mego like spaceballs figures.
Honorable mention goes out to Strange Brew. Cant forget them Eh?
Rick Moranis is a comedic genius

The McKenzie Bros, to me, are comedic genius... total poetry in motion.

Their combo of childlike naivete and love of girls, beer and rock n roll
is almost impossible to match in refreshing comedic value.

I used to be more frustrated that "STRANGE BREW 2" was never
a reality, and that the McKenzie cartoon didn't feature Moranis...
but, I have to be reasonable and marvel at the stuff they DID release...
the SCTV stuff, the two albums, the beer commercials etc.
and most notably the STRANGE BREW movie... it's one of my favorites
and always will be. Seriously I like it better than just about
any other you'd name.

SPACEBALLS is a cool flick... and it seems action figures based on SB
would be one of the greatest toy sets to be ever released for our
generation of toy/sci-fi fans... but I just had to gush about STRANGE
BREW because I rarely see it mention around here.

Heck.. you mentioned that Moranis was so great... and I have to add that
I'm a huge GHOSTBUSTERS fan as well... Moranis KILLED as Louis!
He helped define that franchise almost as much as Murray & Weaver!

The scene in SB where Dark and Sanders go to the video of SB to see where the heroes went, is up there with "who's on 1st"

Hue i totally agree about Moranis in GB, there were times when he stole the scene.

I rented this movie every weekend for two years. Loved it. I haven't watched it all the way through in a long time. I need this on DVD.

I like Spaceballs a lot more now than when it first came out.

When it first came out I thought most of the jokes were kind of lame and unfunny.

My wife told me last night she has never seen Strange brew.. i responded by going
doooooo doot doot doot doooooo doot doot dooooooo. She had no clue but somewhere a bunch of hockey players started punching each other. And seriously not because of any subliminal message but because hockey is the greatest sport ever. heehee
