    Celebrity Apprentice

One of the casualties of the back-room being overthrown was the incredibly topical discussion of Celebrity Apprentice.

To make matters worse I actually missed the last show. Fortunately Tom Scharpling of WFMU writes a re-cap each week:

Celebrity Apprentice Recap: Tom Scharpling on the Unraveling of La Toya -- Vulture

That was a pretty concise and accurate recount of the show. I also completely agree that Busey is staying on for one and one reason only....trainwrecks boost ratings and this guy has been a trainwreck to watch. One thing that went unmentioned in the article but was stated in the boardroom was an accusation that Busey is putting on an act because his behavior in the boardroom is cool, calm, and collected while he is off the charts during the tasks. He denies what he said regarding how the suntan lotion makes him feel even though everyone stated he said it and homeviewers watched him say it. He also denied grabbing the execs and tried to sell himself to be their pitchman even though there he was on camera saying it again. I think Trump kept him because the trainwreck can continue and he had an easy out in firing McGrath when he said he would take full responsibility.

The odd part about this show and I don't know if it is editing, etc. is the execs clearly said they wanted their Koala Bear front and center and wanted a theme that reflected their "Live the Gold Life". This mistake is made over and over. The execs clearly say what they want and the project managers completely ignore it and are then surprised that they lost because they failed to follow explicit instructions.
