My daughters are watching "Curly Sue"...

and I hear a voice I recognize. I realize it is the old man from the b&w movie Kevin is watching in "Home Alone".

"Keep the change, you filthy animal!"

John Hughes did produce both of these movies.

I always thought that was a real, B-rate movie. The man looks the same age.

He has a small cameo as a homeless guy selling something at a pawn shop at the beginning of the movie. I don't know if he is in it again, I went to bed.

Yeah his appearance in both Culkin "Home Alone" movies is new material, not stock footage...

I wonder why John Hughes didn't get the claim to fame that he should have gotten. He made some of the top movies of the 80's.

I know he didn't produce any Oscar material (I think), but he made some major money makers.

People always seem to write off comedies...especially teen comedies...

I would disagree that he did get the claim to fame.. he was certainly a household name (and an industry juggernaut) in the 80s and early 90s, and it's only becuz he sorta disappeared from movie-making in the late 90s and 00s that his name faded to the backdrop.

His influence was acknowledged at the Oscars in 2009.. no small feat..
