              You sure it is not 288?

                48 divided by 2 = 24. 9+3=12
                24x12= 288

                288 is the answer

                  Naw it's 2.

                  Google "PEMDAS" and you will learn again what you forgot

                    should be 2

                    but someone could do the error of 9+3 =12 then do the 48/2 =24 then times 24x12 which is 288

                    but then if you're doing that one type of stuff where you change the divison into multiplication and turn a positive number into a negative then it's like 48x-2(9+3) if so then it's like -1152

                    but I really don't fully understand all that ... just getting into some of it in my math class. and 80% of the time I am puzzled and have no clue, just lots of numbers and magic switch arounds etc. etc. but yeah I would go with 2 since that looks like a straight forward problem.

                        Ding ding ding! We have a winner!!!

                        This equation can be written 48/2 x (9+3)

                        You will never see a division symbol in any real equation. It will be written as a fraction, and you do fractions before multiplications.

                            You can use PEMDAS, but when it comes to the "M/D", you do them from left to right. Multiplication is not done before division, they are done in order, left to right.

                              What do you see instead of a division symbol?
                              I don't follow your logic.
