Pretty cool, but pricey. I used the heck out of mine playing games and even writing my own programs. Then I "upgraded" to a PC and was stunned how much more the graphics sucked on the PC. I figured for the money, the graphics would blow the 64 away. How stupid I was back then. The PC sat on my desk as a paperweight until I took the plunge and got a MAC. I sold the PC to a fisherman buddy to use as an anchor for his bass boat and never looked back!

So this is a PC in a C64 shell?
        Overpriced too. LOL

Pass on this but interesting novelty item.

It's a great and fun idea but looks to be very expensive for what you are getting. Even the highest priced model is fairly under powered in comparison to an average (and cheaper) lap top.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

My overwhelming desire to reunite with my C64 is over ridden by the logic that I could buy ALOT of cool things with $600.

I loved my old Commodore 64, it was my first computer. I agree with the others that this new one is overpriced for what you get. If the "Ultimate" version was under $600 instead of nearly $900, I'd probably be all over this. It would be a blast fooling around with BASIC on the ol' 64 OS again.

The C=128 was my very first computer and I learned A LOT from it.

I actually still have it including all of the original boxes and paper work. I never could bring myself to part with it as I have soooo many games for it. Not to mention all of the good memories. Although I hardly ever use it any more. It is still nice to know that I have it if I want to play something one day as simple as Atomic Handball or whatever.

It was indeed an awesome machine for the time. However, That was then and this is now. I could never do as much with it as I could my newer electronics to date. I am more than happy with my new HP products.

So in essence you actually had both. Dual mode 64/128

The 64 was top of the line, very advanced, when it first came out. I remember when I was shopping around for my first computer, I was looking at stuff like the TRS-80 and Atari 800. My computer geek friend recommended the just released Commodore 64, which he said was way more powerful than the others. So I picked that one up. The only bad thing about being an early adopter was that it took a good year or two for good software and games to start being released for it, and then by that point the price had dropped to almost half what I paid for it. Should have waited a bit.

I had a C64 and liked it. But if I really wanted to mess around on it again, why wouldn't I just get a C64 emulator?
Expectation is the death of discovery.

Now, if apple would only re release the apple 2E, then we'd have something! I'd be all over that!

Totally. I actually have a vintage Apple IIgs, sorta the last in line of the Apple II series of computers. It's fun to fire it up for nostalgia's sake. The Apple IIc was my computer of the mid to late 80s!
